Rick Cahoon, Enterprise Support Manager for Wilbur-Ellis, and his team had been using spreadsheets to track inventory for the company’s 1,400 mobile lines, which are spread over three carriers and hundreds of different handset models. Managing the lifecycle of all these devices was an extremely time-consuming and nearly impossible task. Moreover, matching Wilbur-Ellis’ internal system with carrier data was quite daunting because each carrier has its own unique system for invoicing. To make matters worse, the carriers’ software could not be combined with each other to give Rick the one overarching management tool he desired.
