See why Visage Mobile customers outperform on smartphone adoption
Wednesday, January 27th, 2010While it may seem a foregone conclusion from the IT perspective, smartphone penetration at the corporate level is all over the map despite the myriad indicators pointing to a surge in corporate adoption of employee smartphones. Indeed, the third of our Top Five Enterprise Mobile Predictions for 2010 hits right at this issue and we’d like to dig a little deeper.
Recent data from Forrester and other analysts have pegged smartphone adoption at corporations around 10 percent of their total workforce. While that may be true, our own internal data is much more promising with respect to growth in the sector.
After excluding our customers that carry fewer than 500 lines total, Visage Mobile’s data shows a 47 percent penetration rate of smartphones and 21 percent penetration of 3G dongles and embedded modules. Taken as a whole, 68 percent of all of the lines held by Visage Mobile’s mid- to large-sized customers are on some kind of top-tier data plan.
While our customers may be outperforming the corporate norm overall, we believe these rates of penetration will continue to grow from their average of 10 percent today to more than 30 percent in a short while. Smartphones are getting distributed to employees beyond the executive and sales level all the while non-BlackBerry operating systems have begun delivering on the security and manageability features many IT managers require.
These devices are must-have and mission-critical. Our customers with the highest smartphone adoption rates are quickly wanting to give their employees access to more corporate applications in the cloud like saleforce.com. We at Visage Mobile also see a clear path toward the enterprise market being nearly evenly split between BlackBerry, iPhone and Android devices.

So what is new in this 0.1 release. In fact, the question should be what is not new, because everything has changed! DOE is a complete new engine both Under the hood and in front of the wheel. It is a complete model driven middleware stack to mobilize SAP application. Let me give you a first introduction into the different terminology of the Data Orchestration Engine.
First stop are the basis concepts of what composes DOE. Everything revolves around a model which is called Data Object (DO). Each data object defines a header and child node. One nice particularity is that you can have has many child node as you want : child can have children on their own! You can also define association between DO.
