Monday, December 21st, 2009More users may connect to the internet via mobile devices than through desktop computers within the next five years, according to a recent study, making cell phone management more essential than ever.
Morgan Stanley’s Mobile Internet Report found that mobile internet technologies are catching on faster than desktop internet did, and said that the current technology cycle fueled by the rise of mobile internet devices is only beginning. The study also said that widespread 3G adoption, internet video, social networking, voice over internet protocol and mobile hardware technology are providing the basis for strong growth in the mobile internet sector.
Researchers noted that Apple and Facebook are breaking new ground with wireless hardware and software platforms, and are helping drive innovations in the industry. It also said that rapid growth in mobile data is helping grow the sector.
As reliance on mobile internet services continues to grow, an increasing number of firms may seek out cell phone management solutions to help administrate their many mobile internet deployments. Cell phone management software, for instance, allows firms to track deployments of mobile devices, and to keep track of monthly wireless bills.
