Global manufacturers for Android may fuel demand for telecom management

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

The release of Google Android smartphone Nexus One by Taiwanese manufacturer HTC early next year may mark the rise of a major new player in the mobile hardware scene, according to a feature published Tuesday, and could help increase demand for telecom management.

Until now, HTC has been relatively unknown to consumers. But the company’s Nexus One smartphone, which will come packaged with Google’s Android software platform, is one of the most highly anticipated hardware releases of 2010. HTC’s executives are hoping that the popularity of Nexus One will finally help the company establish itself among cultural icons such as Apple and BlackBerrry, Wired magazine reported.

The article noted that HTC is headquartered in Taiwan, and that its corporate leadership is almost entirely of Asian descent, but that the company tries to maintain a global outlook. All HTC employees must pass an English test, and several top executives went to graduate school in the United States.

The entry of new players such as HTC into the mobile device market from around the world could help drive down prices and increase the quality of smartphone offerings. This could make telecom management increasingly important for many businesses as workers look to take advantage of new mobile device technologies offered at lower costs.ADNFCR-2628-ID-19529368-ADNFCR
